Strategic Partnership between Dexterity and Sumitomo Corporation

Dexterity-SC Japan was established in June 2024 as a joint venture between U.S.-based Dexterity and Sumitomo Corporation, targeting the Japanese and broader Asian markets.Sumitomo Corporation made a significant investment in Dexterity, a leading Physical AI and robotics startup in the U.S., and entered into an exclusive distribution agreement for the Japanese market. Together, we aim to address one of Japan’s most pressing social issues: the labor shortage.
With the rapid rise of e-commerce and deepening labor challenges, automation through robotics has become an urgent need in logistics operations both in Japan and the U.S. Drawing on Dexterity’s proven success in the U.S. market, we are accelerating the localization and deployment of AI-powered robotic solutions tailored for Japan.
We are already collaborating with several major logistics companies and are actively rolling out our systems at various logistics sites. By fostering strategic collaboration between Japan’s world-renowned robotics hardware and Silicon Valley’s advanced robotics software, we are committed to transforming the logistics and robotics hardware industries with cutting-edge AI robotics solutions.

Leveraging our own AI-integrated robotics technology, we design and optimize logistics operations from the ground up.

Our company brings together top engineering talent from Silicon Valley and Japan to develop cutting-edge Physical AI-powered robots.As a testament to our advanced technology, we have secured dozens of patents to date—holding over 80 patents as of 2025. Our AI-powered robots can automate complex logistics operations that traditional industrial arms have been unable to handle. They are capable of handling items of various sizes and shapes, whether boxed or bagged.
Without altering existing workflows, our robots perform picking, palletizing/de-palletizing, and loading/unloading tasks flexibly and swiftly. They are designed to continuously learn from each operation and adapt, driving ongoing improvements in efficiency and productivity.
