We support individuals in unlocking their potential and achieving success by enabling them to focus on the work they truly excel at.
Through expert technology and system integration, we aim to solve the critical labor shortage issue and realize the social implementation of advanced AI and robotics technologies.
Exceptional technology, passionate operations, and leadership that combines integrity with a spirit of challenge.
Joined Sumitomo Corporation as a new graduate in 2006. Initially responsible for supporting overseas expansion of companies from the U.S., China, Israel, etc., into Japan in the telecommunications, cloud, and mobile sectors, as well as fostering strategic partnerships with domestic manufacturers and managing M&A of domestic system integrators.
After being stationed in Singapore, transferred to Sumitomo’s Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) division, where I engaged in venture investments in cutting-edge startups in AI, IoT, and robotics primarily in Silicon Valley, while driving business development within the Sumitomo Group.
Several portfolio companies grew into unicorns, including Dexterity, in which I led a major investment in 2020. As I took charge of Dexterity’s business development, I founded “Dexterity-SC Japan” in June 2024 to support its expansion in Japan and Asia, serving as its CEO.
I hold degrees in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo and the University of Colorado Graduate School.
Earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he developed simulation models and control theory formulations to study the human musculoskeletal system. My research focused on robotic control, dynamics, modeling, and the development of robotic and haptic interfaces.
While at Stanford, he was awarded two Stanford School of Engineering Fellowships and one Stanford Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellowship.
He has authored numerous research papers on robotics, haptics, human biomechanics, and spiking neural networks. Additionally, he served as a co-chair for IEEE SIMPAR 2016 and organized workshops at IEEE Humanoids 2015 and IEEE ICRA 2015.
Sumitomo Corporation is actively working to solve the logistics challenges occurring in Japan. As part of these efforts, we have signed an exclusive agency agreement with U.S.-based Dexterity, strategically partnering to leverage their outstanding software technology and AI development capabilities to address Japan’s logistics issues.
Dexterity has already earned the trust of customers in the United States and is expanding deployments across multiple logistics sites. The challenges faced in both Japan and the U.S. are very similar, with a strong need for labor-saving and automation. Therefore, referencing Dexterity’s proven track record in the U.S., we will collaborate to promote the introduction of their solutions in Japan.
