Mechanical Engineer

We are recruiting for a position to support the design and development of cutting-edge logistics operation automation robots and material handling equipment at Dexterity, a Silicon Valley and Stanford University spin-off company.
In this role, you will be involved in the design and development of Dexterity’s logistics automation robots as well as customized conveyors that work in coordination with the robots.
Additionally, you will collaborate with conveyor vendors to manage everything from specification creation, verification, testing, to quality assurance of our custom products.
Ultimately, you will also be responsible for the design and layout of logistics warehouses when implementing the robots. Once you become proficient in the tasks, there will be opportunities to lead projects.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

Design and development of cutting-edge logistics automation robots
Defining functional requirements for custom conveyors
Reviewing specifications provided by vendors
Creating and executing inspection and test plans for customized conveyors
Identifying and coordinating necessary specification changes
Designing and prototyping jigs required for testing
Designing and sourcing other necessary equipment and jigs
Designing layout plans for robot implementation in logistics warehouses

Desired Skills

Mechanical design experience (especially for vertical X-axis systems or similar)
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
2D drafting and drawing creation skills
Experience with sequence design
