IT Engineer

The truck-loading robot developed by U.S.-based Dexterity, Inc., equipped with cutting-edge AI, computer vision, and control technologies, enables high-speed, collaborative, and complex operations that were previously only possible through manual labor.
As such, it is gaining attention as a solution capable of automating processes that have long relied on human intervention. In Japan, this AI-powered robot is drawing significant interest as a promising answer to the growing challenges facing the logistics industry.
Dexterity-SC Japan, Inc. is a joint venture established in August 2024 between Sumitomo Corporation and Dexterity, Inc. While the robot system itself is highly advanced, many aspects of our internal IT infrastructure remain undeveloped.
As we prepare for future business expansion, there is a pressing need to build various systems and operations from the ground up. In addition to supporting our internal IT environment, the role also involves providing hands-on support for various phases of robot implementation.
We are seeking an IT Engineer who can take a hands-on approach and contribute broadly to these foundational efforts.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

Formulation of IT policies and development of IT operations based on those policies
Configuration and operation of a Windows-based IT environment, including PC setup (Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Intune / Defender for Business)
Construction and maintenance of network infrastructure at our lab
Domain and website management (excluding content creation)
Creation of various operation and configuration manuals, with Japanese documentation required
Tasks related to the setup of a ticketing system for our services
Support for network and power installation work at customer sites during robot deployments

Desired Skills

Hands-on skills required
Experience in configuring and operating a Windows domain environment
Experience in PC setup and user support (Experience in a Japanese-language environment is required)
Experience providing support using a ticketing system
Technical understanding of computing and networking
Language proficiency required (Japanese: Native or JLPT N1, English: Business level)

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience in configuring and operating Microsoft 365, Intune, and Defender for Business
Experience working in a global IT environment with overseas parent companies or partner organizations
Experience managing support ticketing systems
Experience in domain and email-related configuration and operations
Experience in building and managing web servers, DNS, and mail servers
Hands-on experience in network setup (not only in design, but also in physical setup and wiring for both wired and wireless networks is highly welcomed)
Knowledge and certifications related to electrical work (e.g., Electrician license)
