Sumitomo Corporation Signs Exclusive Distribution Agreement with Dexterity and Enters RaaS Business in Japan

Sumitomo Corporation is pleased to announce the signing of an exclusive distribution agreement with Dexterity, Inc., a leading U.S.-based robotics and AI software startup, to introduce smart automation solutions to logistics warehouses across Japan.

This strategic partnership was initially formed through our investment in Dexterity via our corporate venture capital arm, Presidio Ventures. As Dexterity gained customer trust and achieved a proven track record of robot deployments—including hardware integration—in the U.S. market, we recognized the company’s potential to solve critical challenges in the Japanese logistics industry.

Through this exclusive agreement, Sumitomo Corporation will not only expand the reach of Dexterity’s advanced technology in Japan but also enter the Robot as a Service (RaaS) business, contributing to society by promoting more sustainable and efficient logistics operations.
