Dexterity, a U.S.-based robotics and AI software company, has announced the launch of a new automation application for logistics warehouses: the Truck Loading Robot.
At FedEx facilities in the U.S., packages have traditionally been loaded onto trucks manually, one by one. To address this labor-intensive process, Dexterity and FedEx have been jointly developing and testing this solution through a collaborative proof-of-concept project.
This new robot is now expected to be rolled out not only across FedEx’s U.S. operations but also globally in the near future.
While there are already several robots available for unloading, truck loading has remained a complex, largely unsolved challenge—making this likely the world’s first fully capable truck loading robot.
We at Sumitomo Corporation are proud to be the exclusive distributor of Dexterity’s cutting-edge robotic solutions in Japan. We are currently working on localizing and introducing this breakthrough technology to the Japanese market.
